Celebration

I am just celebrating my 94 birthday and I wanted to let you into some of the things that I have been thinking about which I have done in the past which have been the subject of discussions for a good blog. A number of years ago I was at a business meeting in south Salt Lake to see how we could increase business between businesses. One person brought up the statement that the biggest problem was that the Mormons tried to control the business and he included the statement that the Mormons did not accept the Christian Bible. I made a challenge to him and said that the Mormons believe more of the bible then any other church. If he or anyone else in the group wanted to accept the challenge I would give them my phone number and I would be happy to talk to them. One of the leaders accepted my challenge and after two hours on the telephone accepted my point of view

Over my 60 years as a missionary, salesman, and administrator pertaining to my knowledge of the the Bible and Book of Mormon I have given hundreds of lectures and now in my declining years find that very little of what I had to say then would be said at this point because of my memory and eyesight failing. A blog is a good way to present it because then a blog is something that can be read and you as readers can give me a good point of view.

I would like to make a few statements about the Book of Mormon which may be enlightening. Many people have wondered if the Book of Mormon could ever be proven? My question what is proof to them? It's statement on the cover states that it is another witness of Jesus Christ and we are able to back this up by the fact that there are more comments using the name of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon then there is in the New Testament.

Some people wonder where we got all of the names that were the original names of people and places of the Book of Mormon and some people say that people have gone beyond their limit. Such as using the name Alma as a mans name. Alma name is a well documented name in the times of Moses. When Lehi and Nephi left Jerusalem this was a boys name. However in today’s society Alma is used as a girls name.

It is difficult to trace all of the names and stories used by the Muslims. The Gulf of Acquaba used to be the gulf of Lehian and there are several references that used to be landmarks that are several parts of Lehis name.

The Gulf of crap meant to be something that doesn't make sense.

Something about a range of mountains and how they are named after principal characters in the Book of Mormon.

The book of Mormon and one of the characters from the BOM died and was buried in a cemetery or in a burial place which is still a landmark and used by the local population. The head gear and shawls

There are nine names of places and there is a town named Nephi

A nephi traveler stopped to get gas from Nephi and he said where do you get the name Nephi and he said from my home town in Jerusalem and he said you don't say.... and that is how it came to be. Jean and Hope Hilton stopped at that town and talked to the man who wanted the information and gave him the information that he was seeking.

Book of Mormon names do no always carry over, one name was found by Jack West. He was a recorder who helped me record in California. He had landed his plane near a little valley that contained a clump that appeared to be left over from an ancient upheaval.

Jack could not speak English that well and he was pointing to the little hill but he didn't realize that he was pointing to a larger hill in the Background. Finally the man said oh you mean that hill. However he didn't realize he was right in line with the larger hill and he said "oh you mean Moronaih?"
"You mean that big hill over there."
He then said do you want to go there. He wanted to know how long he called that hill Moroniah. He said that it was always Moroniah. He began to realize that maybe it was the same hill as the Book of Mormon.
